The Beaumont final was played at the home of last years winners Bury St Edmunds. It is probable that Gorleston, who ran out comfortable winners by 11 holes, are the first winners of a knockout despite losing in a previous round. They were reprieved due to an ineligible player and used there second chance to good effect.

The front three matches were 12 holes up and it was left to the final Fynn Valley pair to salvage some pride by winning the last match.

President John Maddock presented the medals and was doubtless overjoyed as his home club won.
