Scowsill wins the Emirates Amateur Open

Monty Scowsill, Woodbridge, has won the Emirates Amateur open played at Emirates Golf Club, Dubai. He shot 68 on the Majlis course to force a play off with Max Burrows. The competition was shortened to 34 holes as a result of damage caused to two holes and the need to restore them for the upcoming Desert Classic.

The play off was held on the 18th hole, a par 5, Scowsill halving in 5 on the first two occasions before making a birdie 4 to take the title..

He now qualifies for the Ras Al Khaimah DP World Tour event to be played at Al Hamra Golf Club in the first week of February.
